Following a number of recent news stories suggesting GP Practices are not providing face to face consultations for their patients we have had a number of enquiries from our own patients asking what the situation is at the Emmer Green Surgery so we would like to clear up these reports by providing a statement of our own.
Obviously the pandemic is not over and there is still a need for caution and especially as many of the patients we see are in the vulnerable groups but we can confirm that we are indeed carrying out a large number of face to face consultations every week and have done so for some time now.
The current approach adopted by the surgery is to carry out an initial telephone consultation with all patients and then invite in all those who need a follow-on face to face consultation/examination etc.
Similarly all appointments to see the practice nursing team or phlebotomists etc are being scheduled in as normal so please rest assured that all those patients that need to be seen in person are indeed being invited in.
